The Mission of Tender Melodies

Where thoughtful embrace creates timeless treasures

 

The Story of Tender Melodies has always been a part of my heart and was born as a response to the outside world that didn´t resonate with my own beliefs and values.

In a world of mass production, we are not only losing parts of our Nature, but we are also in danger of the immense knowledge and rich tradition of needlework inherited from cultures, being forgotten and lost.

As a little girl, my sister and I were given knitted doll clothes from Grandmother. For days, weeks and months, she would sit on the couch with a ball of yarn, allowing the knitting needles to create magically beautiful little clothes.

These little things were then dressed on and off millions of times, washed and used extensively by both dolls and teddy bears. And now, half a lifetime later, some buttons have had to be replaced but otherwise they are just as beautiful as when they were first given to us.

In great humility and reverence Tender Melodies is here to remember.

Sustainability is at the very heart of Tender Melodies and plays a crucial role in all aspects of our business. With carefully selected yarn we create timeless styles made to last and to be treasured, inherited, and passed on to other children.

All our items are handmade by me and of the highest quality. Every piece is made in memory and honor to those women who passed down their knowledge in knitting and crocheting through generations.
